Kaal sarpa dosha is the yoga when all planets in the horoscope get sandwiched between Rahu and Ketu. The different types of Kaal sarpa yoga are not considered valid by serious astrologers. Only one kind of Kaal sarpa is considered that is when all planets are tied down by Rahu and Ketu. It is not the worst dosha to have, neither does it create the most suffering in a person’s life on its own. There are many examples of people doing great in their lives despite having kaal sarpa, as they have other favorable combinations in their charts as well.

What happens in Kaal sarpa is that all the planets along with the horoscope gets a paap karatari yoga. As astrology enthusiasts know, paap kartari is a malefic yoga which is created difficulty for the planet in delivering its result. Now, with the whole horoscope going into paap kartari, all the results a person gets in their life happen with delay. Usually, planets get stacked in a way that all planets encounter a malefic ahead of them and behind them. In a very rare alignment, this might not be the case.

As for remedies, I have not read of any particular remedy for kaal sarpa yoga till today. Also, astrologers do not give remedies for yoga either. Remedies are prescribed for a particular problem one is facing, like health, career, marriage, etc. At other times, remedies such as gemstones increase the luck of the individual. One can try gemstone remedy if one feels they are facing too many hurdles in their life, due to the kaal sarpa yoga, with respect to everything that they desire as well as the actions that they are taking.

However, please consult a serious astrologer that you can trust to recommend the gemstone and a trusted gemologist. Most astrologers do a really bad job at suggesting gemstones, which are often enemies to the person’s Lagna lord. Only a week ago on bhaiya duj, I saw my elder brother wearing fake gemstones which were not even required to be worn by him. I had to ask him to take them off immediately!
